For an experienced sugarist, managing these variables becomes part of the technique. For someone learning at home – particularly in a warm climate or when their hands and skin become warm – it can make the process considerable trickier.
Strip sugaring solves the usability problem.
The paste is softer and more fluid, allowing it to spread easily with an applicator before being removed with a fabric strip. The technique feels familiar and is generally much easier to understand when you’re learning at home.
But that spreadability comes with a trade-off.
Traditional strip sugaring paste has a lower sugar concentration than dense dough-like paste. As a result, you give up some of the body and grip associated with the more concentrated professional paste.
This can become particularly noticeable when working with coarse, dense, or deeply rooted hair, where strong grip matters most.
