Description

For Targeted Hair Removal

Tempered Sugar™ is our signature sugar hair removal paste, specially made to give you the grip needed for stubborn hair while staying smooth, pliable and easy to work with.

It’s our go-to for bikini and pubic hair, underarms and coarse facial hair – and can be used anywhere you need precise, targeted hair removal.

Why sugar?

We chose sugar as the base for its combination of performance, skin compatibility and ease of use.

  • Long-lasting results – Hair is removed from the root, leaving skin smooth for 2-6 weeks, depending on your individual rate of hair growth.
  • Skin-friendly – Sugar paste is designed to grip hair while remaining gentle to the skin, making it well suited for delicate areas.
  • Helps with ingrowns – Sugaring removes hair from the root and removes it in the natural direction of growth, which can help minimise hair breakage. It also gently exfoliates the skin to remove surface buildup, while consistent sugaring may lead to finer, less dense regrowth over time – all factors that can help reduce the likelihood of ingrown hairs.
  • Water-soluble – Sugar paste dissolves in water. Rinse away unwanted paste, clean your skin and tools easily, or simply wash off and start again if your application needs a reset.
  • Used warm, not hot – Tempered Sugar™ is formulated to be used at or around body temperature for a comfortable working consistency.
  • Sparser regrowth over time – With consistent sugaring – many people find that regrowth becomes less dense, with hair appearing finer and softer over time.
  • Beginner-friendly – An easy-to-control paste, simple application and water-soluble formula make Tempered Sugar™ straightforward to use at home – even for first-time users.

Tempered Sugar™ takes the performance of a concentrated sugar paste and tempers it into a smooth, pliable formula that can be scooped, spread and removed with an applicator and strip.

One consistency. One simple system.

TEMPERED
SUGAR™
GUIDE

Expert guidance for better results. Everything you need to feel confident in your routine.

Sugaring has several benefits:

  • Root-Level Hair Removal - Removes hair from the root for longer-lasting smoothness compared to shaving or hair removal creams.
  • Gentle Exfoliation - Helps lift away dead skin cells during removal for smoother-looking skin.
  • Water-Soluble Clean-Up - Sugar pastes rinses away easily with water without heavy residue.
  • Skin-Friendly Formula - Traditional sugar paste is made with simple ingredients and does not require harsh resins commonly found in some waxes.
  • Smoother Regrowth - With consistent use, many people notice softer-feeling regrowth over time.
  • Ingrown Hair Support - Regular sugaring and exfoliation may help reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs.
  • Less Adhesion to Skin - Sugar paste is designed to grip hair rather than the surrounding skin surface, helping make the experience feel gentler for many users.
  • Suitable for Multiple Areas - Can be used on larger body areas as well as delicate areas .

Tempered Sugar™ Paste is a modern evolution of pro-grade sugaring paste - carefully formulated to maintain a soft, molten-like consistency at room temperature while delivering the strength and grip typically associated with professional hand-applied sugar paste.

Unlike solid stripless pastes that must be molded and flicked by hand, Tempered Sugar™ Paste has been reversed engineered to be spreadable with an applicator at low to no heat, for a more precise, effortless experience without sacrificing performance. The more controlled application is designed to reduce some of the pulling, overworking, and discomfort that can happen when firmer hand-applied sugar pastes are used incorrectly. Since Tempered Sugar™ spreads more easily and requires less manual manipulation than traditional hand-flicking techniques, it is more approachable for beginners and at-home users while still performing at a level appreciated by experienced users and professionals alike.

And unlike conventional strip sugaring formulas that can are often overly thin and struggle to extract coarser strands, Tempered Sugar™ is engineered to deliver smooth application and easier control without sacrificing grip and performance.

Tempered Sugar offers all of the traditional benefits of sugaring - including root-level hair removal, gentle exfoliation, and water-soluble clean-up - while introducing a more refined application experience designed for modern at-home and professional use.

  • Soft at Room Temperature - Designed to remain soft, spreadable, and workable without requiring excessive heating.
  • Strong Grip Performance - Maintains the strength and grip associated with traditional hand-applied sugar paste, helping remove coarse and stubborn hair more effectively.
  • More Controlled Application - Engineered to spread smoothly without becoming overly runny or difficult to manage.
  • Less Hair Breakage - The stronger grip can help reduce breakage that may occur with weaker strip-style sugar pastes that struggle to fully extract thicker strands from the root.
  • Beginner-Friendly Feel - Easier to spread and work with than traditional hand-flicking pastes, making the process feel more approachable for at-home users.
  • Reduced Overworking - Requires less repeated manipulation during application, which can help minimise unnecessary pulling and discomfort.
  • Applicator & Strip Compatible - Designed specifically for applicator-and-strip use for a cleaner, more consistent application experience.
  • Professional-Level Performance - Offers the ease of a softer paste while still delivering the performance appreciated by experience users and professionals.
  • Modernised Sugaring Experience - Combines the traditional benefits of true sugar paste with a more refined texture engineered  for modern application preferences.

Yes - sugaring paste can be used on the pubic area. Many people prefer sugaring for intimate areas because sugar paste is designed to grip the hair while being gentler on the skin surface compared to some traditional waxing methods.

For coarser areas such as the bikini line or pubic region, using a stronger-grip paste (like Onyx) and working in smaller sections can help improve removal while minimising breakage.

Tips for best results:

Keep the skin taut - This helps improve comfort and allows the hair to release more cleanly.

Work in small sections - Especially important for coarse or dense hair.

Avoid overheated paste - Paste that is too warm can become overly soft and harder to control.

Exfoliate consistently - Gentle exfoliation between sessions may help reduce ingrown hairs.

Patch test if sensitive - Especially if it is your first time sugaring the area.

If you are new to sugaring intimate areas, it may take a few sessions to become comfortable with the technique and consistency that works best for you.

Tempered Sugaring Paste is designed to be soft and workable at body temperature, so heating is often optional depending on your climate and personal preference.

If you prefer a softer consistency, or if the paste has become firmer in cooler temperatures, you can gently warm it before use.

Recommended Heating Methods:

  • Wax Warmer or Lamp Warmer - A gentle warmer can help maintain a smooth, consistent texture during longer sessions.
  • Microwave - Warm with the lid on for 15-20 seconds. If needed, continue heating in 5-second intervals until the paste reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Do not overheat. The ideal temperature is warm to the touch, not hot.
  • Hot Water Bath - Scoop the desired amount of paste into a heat-safe container and place the container into warm water for a few minutes until the paste becomes softer and easier to spread.

IMPORTANT!

Overheating can make the paste too thin and difficult to control and can lead to burns.

The ideal consistency should feel thick, slow-moving, and spreadable - not runny or dripping. Always test the temperature on your wrist before applying to the skin.

  • Prep the Skin:

Exfoliate 24-48 hours before sugaring, cleanse the skin, and use a pre-sugaring powder to absorb moisture and create a smooth surface for the sugar paste.

  • Apply and Remove Correctly:

Apply sugar against the hair growth and remove with the hair growth. Hold the skin taut to reduce breakage and discomfort.

  • Trim Longer Hairs:

If hair is too long, trim down to 1/4 inch to avoid breakage.

  • Aftercare:

Exfoliate regularly after sugaring to prevent ingrown hairs and moisturise to keep the skin healthy. Apply an antibacterial toner to soothe irritation and prevent infections.

By following these steps, you can minimise breakage and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs when sugaring.

Results vary from person to person, but most people remain smooth for approximately 3-6 weeks after sugaring depending on their hair growth cycle. the area being treated, and consistency of use.

Because sugaring removes hair from the root rather than cutting it at the surface like shaving, regrowth typically takes longer to appear and often feels softer over time.

With consistent sugaring, many users also notice the hair begins growing back finer and more sparse, which can lead to longer-lasting results between sessions.

Like any hair removal method that removes hair from the root, some level of discomfort can be expected - especially during your first few sessions or on coarser areas.

However, many people find sugaring more comfortable than traditional waxing over time. Because sugar paste is designed to grip the hair more than the surrounding skin surface, the experience can feel gentler and less irritating for some users.

Technique, hair length, consistency, and skin preparation also make a significant difference. Using the right paste strength, working in smaller sections, and keeping the skin taut can help improve comfort and reduce unnecessary pulling.

Many users also notice that sessions become easier with consistency as the hair begins growing back finer and more sparse over time.

Sugaring can be used on a wide range if hair types and textures, from finer body hair to thicker, coarser growth. The key is using the right paste strength for the area being treated.

Our Tempered sugaring pastes are designed to maintain the superior grip associated with traditional hand-applied sugar paste while remaining soft and spreadable at room temperature. This allows it to handle coarser strands more effectively than many weaker strip-style pastes that may struggle to fully extract thicker hair from the root.

Coarser hair - such as bikini, pubes, underarm, or facial hair - may require the strong grip consistency and smaller working sections for best results, while finer hair often benefit from the softer more spreadable application.

Hair length also matters. For optimal removal, the hair should typically be long enough for the paste to grip properly. Very short hair, freshly shaved hair, to heavily broken hair may be difficult to remove effectively.

Sugaring is often preferred by people with sensitive skin because sugar paste is designed to grip the hair more than the surrounding skin surface and uses simple, water soluble ingredients.

Our Tempered Sugar is also designed for a smoother, more controlled application experience, which can help reduce excessive pulling and overworking during use.

However, all skin is different. If you have highly reactive skin, active irritation, or use strong exfoliating products or retinoids, we recommend patch testing first or consulting a professional before hair removal.

Many people continue sugaring during pregnancy and sugaring is generally considered a gentler alternative to some traditional hair removal methods because sugar paste id designed to grip the hair more than the surrounding skin surface.

However, pregnancy can make the skin more sensitive due to hormonal changes, which may cause treatments to feel more uncomfortable than usual - especially in sensitive areas.

If you are pregnant, it is always best to consult your healthcare provider before hair removal treatments, particularly if you have skin sensitivities, medical concerns, or high-risk pregnancy considerations. Patch testing and working in smaller sections may also help improve comfort during use.

Many people sugar every 3-6 weeks depending on their hair growth cycle, the area being treated, and consistency of use.

For best results, it is usually recommended to wait until hair is long enough for the paste to grip properly before sugaring again. Sugaring too soon may make removal less effective, especially if the hair is still very short.

With consistent sessions, many people notice the hair begins growing back finer and more sparse over time, which can lead to longer periods between treatments.

INGREDIENTS

3 ingredients. 1 purpose: effective hair removal.

Cane Sugar – The functional base of Tempered Sugar™ – responsible for the paste’s grip and hair removal performance.

Water – Helps create the workable texture and water-soluble finish that makes cleanup simple.

Citric Acid – Helps control the formula’s pH and supports the characteristic texture of the sugar paste.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare the skin – Start with clean, completely dry skin. Avoid applying oils, lotions or other products beforehand.
  2. Warm the paste – Warm Tempered Sugar™ until it reaches a thick, slow-moving consistency that glides easily from the applicator. See the Warming Guide for detailed instructions.
  3. Apply the paste – Scoop a small amount onto the applicator and spread it against the direction of hair growth, working the paste into the hair.
  4. Apply the strip – Place a strip over the paste and smooth it firmly in the direction of hair growth.
  5. Remove – Hold the skin taut. Remove the strip with a quick, controlled pull in the direction of hair growth, keeping the strip close and parallel to the skin.
  6. Clean up – If any hairs remain, apply fresh paste with the direction of hair growth and remove with a fresh strip against the direction of hair growth.
  7. Wash away residue – Remove any remaining sugar with warm water. Tempered Sugar™ is water-soluble, so no oil or special cleanser is needed.

For best results: Work in small sections, use enough paste to fully grip the hair, and keep the skin taut during removal.

WARMING GUIDE

Tempered Sugar™ can be used at room temperature, but warming it makes the paste more pliable and easier to spread. For the best consistency, warm it to approximately 37-47°C (99-117°F).

  1. Warm the paste – Choose your preferred warming method
    • Warming lamp: Leave the jar open under the lamp until the paste reaches the desired consistency.
    • Microwave: Warm with the lid on for 15-20 seconds, then stir. Continue in 5-second intervals as needed.
    • Hot water: Place the sealed jar in hot water until the paste softens.
  2. Check the consistency – The paste should be thick and slow-moving, with enough pliability to spread smoothly without running.
    • Scoop a small amount onto the applicator. If the paste stays on the stick and then slowly drops after about 3 seconds, it’s ready to use.
    • If the paste is runny, it is too hot. Do not apply to the skin. Allow it to cool before use.
  3. Check the temperature – Always test the paste before applying it to the skin. If using a thermometer, aim for 37-47°C (99-117°F). If the paste is runny, IT IS TOO HOT so allow it to cool before use. If it is too firm, warm it slightly longer.

Heating times vary depending on the appliance, container and amount of product, so always check the consistency and temperature before applying.

SAFETY GUIDE

  • Patch test first – Test the product on a small area before your first use, particularly if you have sensitive skin or are new to sugaring.
  • Check the temperature – Always test the paste before applying it to skin. If it is runny, it is too hot. Allow it to cool before use.
  • Use on intact skin – Do not use on broken, irritated, sunburned or otherwise compromised skin.
  • Pause retinoids and active treatments – Avoid sugaring areas treated with retinoids or other products that can increase skin sensitivity. Follow the recommended pause period for your specific product or treatment.
  • Avoid recently treated skin – Do not sugar over areas that have recently undergone chemical peels, exfoliating treatments or other professional procedures that may leave the skin more sensitive.
  • Be cautious with sensitive areas – Take extra care on the bikini, pubic and facial areas. Work in small sections and keep the skin taut during removal.
  • Avoid excessive passes – Use a cleanup strip for any remaining hairs, but avoid repeatedly treating the same area.
  • After sugaring – Avoid excessive heat, friction, swimming and strenuous exercise immediately after hair removal. Keep the area clean and allow the skin to settle.
  • For external use only – Do not ingest. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Keep out of reach or children and pets – Store safely away from children and animals.
  • Stop if irritation occurs – Discontinue use if significant irritation , burning or an unusual reaction occurs.
